Progress and development for some, displacement and poverty for others, two correlates to identify and problematize in defense of communities and territories against the advance of the so-called development. To contribute to the understanding of this dilemma, an analysis is made of the multiple damages caused to the community of El Naranjal, San Cristóbal corregimiento, MedellÃn City, as a result of the construction of the "Mar 1" highway, via of fourth generation (4G) that will connect the center of the country with the port of Urabá. This, a reality that is repeated throughout the Colombian territory.
