Commune 8 in Medellín has been the focus of state interventions, which
transform places and sociocultural dynamics of the territory. In view of such a
situation, community organizations have emerged, which ensure the guarantees
of permanence of the inhabitants involved. This is the case of the Movement
for the defense of the territory and dignified life. The article analyzes the process
of formation and consolidation of the organization around the construction of
proposals for political advocacy in order to understand the factors, which have
made sense of resistance in that territory
