This article examines the discursive reflections of the participants of a countercultural movement in Colombia, and its impact on food practices. Through an ethnographic account, it highlights the conditions conducive to the emergence of hardcore punk, reveals its philosophical principles, and it explores the implications of these on food choices. The analysis shows that some members of the Colombian hardcore punk scene promote and adopt discourses, which advocate vegetarianism, oppose consumerism and promote awareness of climate change, thus generating alternative ways of life to the conventional system.
