The current research was carried out, by using a qualitative methodology, whose approach was the Grounded Theory. Its objective was to determine the social imaginary of mega-mining and the modes of citizen participation of communities regarding this phenomenon in the State of Quindío. It comprised a cultural understanding of visions, perceptions, conceptions of nature, life, and their participation in post-conflict scenarios.
